Home tour: white and vintage in Gothenburg

This Gothenburg apartment currently for sale though Stadshem, has just the right mix - beautiful white wood panelled walls and floors, mid century furniture and cute vintage finds. What a fun place to live, Gothenburg anyone?!

Get the look? Auction site Lauritz is always a great source for Scandinavian mid-century finds (trust me, I've spent hours on there!). You can buy Tulip dining chairs at nest. Get hold of the cute doggy 'Tillsammans' posters behind the bed here. Vintage finds...hmmm, lots of hours scouring around car boot sales, flea markets, charity shops...and there's always wonderful Etsy, have you got any great tips?

Have a lovely day!

Lotta's beautiful black and white home

Monday morning- yay! (note the optimism!). To kick off the week I have to share the beautiful monochrome home of Sweden's Queen of Interior style, Lotta Agaton. This has been floating around the blogosphere for a few days and I can totally see why.

Black and white perfection aside, I absolutely love the use of plants throughout the home. I saw a great post on 'green' inspiration here. What do you love about this home?

Today I have to admit I'm feeling a little worst for wear. P and I were in London on Saturday for my sister's 30th birthday at the fantastic speakeasy Evans and Peel and two days later I am still being reminded that I'm not 30 myself! Strong coffee anyone?!

Having said that London was really rainy so I actually appreciated returning to snowy Sweden yesterday. If you're suffering from a little winter blues (Northern hemisphere people) check out these lovely photos, they make you want winter to last forever.

Have a lovely Monday!

Light, airy and relaxed apartment in Gothenburg

To complete the week, a Swedish home in Gothenburg currently for sale through Alvhem. It's white, white, white with a touch of colour and funkiness here and there (cue vintage suitcases, resident bike and green splashback) and represents many of the things I love about Swedish apartment interior design; it's light, airy and relaxed.

Alvhem

Alvhem always style so well. Are there any take home spaces for you here? My favourite areas have to be the bedroom and the little eating space in the kitchen, perfect.

Have a lovely Friday all and see you after the weekend!

Swedish fireplace inspiration

So many of the Swedish homes you see feature a fab Kakelugn (tiled stove) in the corner of the room. These date back to the 1880's neo-renaissance era (today's history lesson!). Many of them are not used for heating today but can still look pretty with lit candles. This home for sale through Alvhem is lucky enough to have one in the sitting room AND in the kitchen.

There is something very cool and cosy about having a fireplace in the kitchen don't you think?! In fact I'll add 'kitchen fireplace' to my dream home 'must have' check list right now!

Old meets new in a Stockholm home

It's all happening in Södermalm, Stockholm this week. So if you're looking for somewhere to live, this area of Sweden's capital city's got the place! Following Tuesday's all white affair, this beautiful apartment (which I found via one of my blog favourites, La Maison D'Anna G) has a lovely relaxed old meets new feel with a touch of industrial / shabby.

So which style is more you - the fresh white or the relaxed old meets new?

Me? I'm definitely for a little mix of old and new, I love an old floor with history like the ones they sell at The Reclaimed Flooring Co and antique / vintage pieces which tell a story. Plus if you're a bit messy (like I am) it this tyle is much more forgiving!
PS Just a quick question before I leave, does your man / girl understand your love of Pinterest? My guy is finding it hard to grasp the context, or actually I think he gets it but doesn't actually get why. Oh how he's missing out!

Sunny white Stockholm studio

With all the snow blanketing the ground outside I'm in the mood for an all white interior (who am I trying to kid....I'm always in the mood for white!). This apartment is currently for sale in Stockholm and is a great lesson in how to design a studio space. I love the blend of light grey marble, galvanised steel and the natural wood / cognac accent. Beautiful!

What do you reckon? Could you happily pad around this home?

Guest post: Feel Inspired, Iceland

Hi everyone! I'm Dagný Björg the blogger from Feel Inspired. I was absolutely thrilled when Niki contacted me regarding doing a guest post for her blog, this is my first time doing this sort of thing. Normally when I see guest posts on blogs they usually show bits and corners of the writers home, but I don't have any proper pictures of mine - need to get on that. So after a long time of browsing through homes I stumbled upon this one which I really like and I thought it would be fun to share in this post. It's located in Gothenburg and with it's white and neutral color scheme it's really quite charming. I really like all of the details in the decorations, see the stripes underneath the coffee table for instance.

Alvhem
Hope you enjoyed and hope to see you on my Feel Inspired blog. Love, Dagný Björg.

Malmo designer pad

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fab Christmas, whether you were knee deep in snow, on a sunny beach somewhere or braving the rain like we've been in London (it's still coming down in rods!). If you're in need of a haven (like we are!) how about this pad currently for sale in Malmo?  Spot the Scandinavian designer pieces and cool photography....

Bjurfors

I spy Eames side chairs and Charles & Ray Eames Lounge chair and ottoman (15% off with MYSCAN). I love the black and white photography and the 'hug me' cushion, any idea where this is from?! But most of all I'm coveting the dressing room. My new year plan is to create a great walk in wardrobe and dressing area and this will be part of the moodboard - I think it's the casual meets orderly approach I like.

What are your home projects for the new year?
